Story behind this artwork "Mermaid".

For some time, I have contemplated the fragile boundary between a victim, a prisoner of circumstances, and a hero. Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” is a symbol of the unfathomable, the incomprehensible, and even the transcendent. Like the sea itself, it is here and now, yet elusive and ultimately inscrutable.

With this artwork, I wanted to show the first plan, which is the ink sketch, but when it is finished and exhibited, you can notice the additional dimension of light and shadow. I really like to play with how my artworks interact with shadows. I believe that creating textile art is the same as painting, except with cleaner hands. That is because with textile material, you can play not just with color, but also with texture – it is the medium that allows for everything.
